Locking CV Bolts for 911, 914, 924, 931, 924S, 944, 951, 968, 928 & BMW2002
Stage8There have been multiple reports of CV bolts failing or losing tension on the 914, 924 and 944, particularly for track use. The OEM units are designed as a stretch bolt, and must be replaced after each use. In addition, CV grease in the threads of the stub axles may contribute to the problem. Stage8's patented GrooveLok system eliminates the concern entirely and are much easier to secure than safety wire.

Polyurethane has been with us as a specialized plastic for some thirty years. However recent advances have now made it possible to engineer very special properties into this exciting material. Suspension bushes are some of the most highly stressed components fitted to a vehicle. They undergo enormous strains and in the most arduous of conditions with no maintenance or lubrication.

For OEM applications, the material they are manufactured from is a rubber compound containing natural products which deteriorate with age. It becomes softer and more pliable, resisting the forces placed on it less and less. Therefore allowing more and more movement of suspension components and offering less and less control over the suspension geometry.

This in turn causes accelerated tire wear, braking instability and poor handling. This is the single biggest reason you can instantly tell the difference driving a three year old car compared to a showroom new one. However even new cars will benefit from polyurethane bushes because of their superior design they offer much more effective control of the suspension components to a much greater extent than normal rubber items.

With the technological advances in this material it has been possible to overc
ome the common problem associated with harder bushes which is increased noise. By correctly engineering the polyurethane compound, bushes can be made 25-30% stiffer than new rubber items but with exactly the same noise absorbing properties. POWERFLEX bushes make sense.

Tarett Engineering Competition Suspension Components
The light-weight hollow sway bars are half the weight of a solid bar with the same stiffness. They are fabricated from aircraft-quality 4130 chrome moly alloy steel and heat treated to maximize strength and reliability. The front bar stiffness is equivalent to a 28mm solid bar and the rear is equivalent to a 22mm solid bar but with only half the weight.

SAFETY NOTE:  The early offset alloy A-arms are known to fail catastrophically, even under street driving conditions. Porsche redesigned them in 1987 to resolve the problem. Using the earlier alloy arms in competition and/or with other competition components will likely increase the stress on them and further increase the chances of their failure.   We highly recommend either replacing them with a reliable aftermarket design, or having them properly reinforced, or inspecting them for cracks before EVERY race session. Likewise, early steel arms should be box-welded or otherwise reinforced.
